If Honor was shaken by the presidential decree issued by Donald Trump at the beginning of last year, the firm did not relax his efforts. On the contrary, it continues to design and market products and the latest is none other than the Honor 9A, a small smartphone offered at the floor price of € 129.
Honor 9A, a smartphone with a very attractive price/quality ratio
The Honor 9A also impresses from the front, with a borderless panel cut by a notch in the shape of a teardrop. The chin is a little more pronounced than on the brand’s flagships, but its width remains reasonable.
The ergonomics do not change. The physical buttons are always placed on the right edge and there is also a fingerprint reader on the back. The photo module is rather impressive, but it’s for a good cause. It brings together three cameras with a 13 million pixel sensor accompanied by a wide-angle, a 5 million pixel sensor coupled to an ultra-wide-angle, and a 2 million pixel sensor for depth of field.
On the display side, the Honor 9A uses a 6.30-inch panel with a resolution of 1600 x 720. The front camera does not exceed 8 million pixels in the definition. To animate the device, the choice of the manufacturer fell on an Helio P22 coupled with 3 GB of RAM. And then there is the battery.
A robust technical sheet
With a capacity of 5000 mAh, the latter will allow the device to hold for 33 hours in calls and 35 hours in video playback.
If the terminal comes with Android 10, it of course ignores the applications and services of Google. It will always be possible to turn to the AppGallery or even to solutions like TrouvApp or APKPure to fill this gap, but some tools will not be able to work on the terminal, due to the lack of Google Mobile Services. This will be the case in particular for Gmail or Google Maps.
