Galaxy Note 20

A new rumor regarding the Galaxy Note 20 has emerged on the web. It suggests a less attractive photographic setup for the Ultra model, the camera of which should apparently be devoid of certain features.

Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Note 20 in a few days at an Unpacked conference that will take place exclusively online. As we already know, in addition to this range which will succeed the Galaxy Note 10 series, the event of August 5 is supposed to be marked by the announcement of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the Galaxy Watch 3 and the Galaxy Buds Live.

Regarding the Galaxy Note 20, their specifications have already leaked several times, but a new leak from Roland Quandt may disappoint some of us.

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra could indeed have a less interesting photographic configuration compared to that of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, at least on paper.

Limited functionality for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s camera?

The most powerful sensor of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is notably identical to that of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, namely a 108 MP camera with f / 1.8 aperture. This sensor would allow 8K video footage to be shot, but instead of offering 30 fps recording thanks to the Snapdragon 865, the frame rate would still be capped at 24 fps.

While some reports have suggested there is a phase detection autofocus feature, it looks like Samsung has decided to do things differently. Remember, however, that the Galaxy S20 Ultra has been criticized for its problems with the autofocus features. So it could be that this decision by Samsung to change the features is aimed at fixing these bugs in the easiest way.

A less efficient telephoto lens

Still according to Roland Quandt, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will have a 12 MP telephoto lens measuring 1 / 3.6 inch. Compared to the 48 MP 1/20 inch sensor of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, this sensor is less efficient, which would limit the zoom to 50X. For the rest, we can expect the 12 MP wide-angle sensors to still be there, while the ToF sensor should be gone.

As for the Galaxy Note 20, it should have a quadruple back camera module consisting of a 64 MP telephoto lens, a 12 MP wide-angle sensor, a 12 MP main sensor and a ToF lens.
