The new generation of smartphones from Samsung has been available for a few days. Recently, the South Korean firm launched a series of updates involving improvements to the camera of smartphones.
According to the SamMobile site, the new update includes among other things the correction of the problems encountered with the autofocus of the Galaxy S20s running with the Exynos 990 processor.
As a reminder, the Galaxy S20, S20 +, and S20 Ultra have been available in all over the world since March 13. Their prices vary between 909 euros and 1,359 euros depending on the model and capacity.
The update improves the smartphone photo app
Note first that the smartphone manufacturer had already deployed an update to correct the autofocus of Galaxy S20s equipped with a Snapdragon 865 at the beginning of March. This time around, the update is for devices running Exynos 990.
The problem with the camera’s autofocus was more obvious on the Galaxy S20 Ultra. According to users, this one was way too slow. The new update corrects this problem. After its deployment, the Galaxy S20 photo application should upgrade to version 10.0.01.98. And with this version, the autofocus should be much faster.
“ The update will bring improvements to the Galaxy S20 lineup, including camera systems. Samsung will continue to provide continuous software updates to improve the overall experience of devices, ”said the South Korean firm questioned by the American press.
Another update on the way
This update is expected to be rolled out to users’ smartphones soon. To check if it is already available, just go to the “Settings” and “Software Update” of the device. Note that it is strongly recommended to connect the latter to a power source before starting the installation.
Another update is also expected to roll out to the Galaxy S20s. This should be offered in the coming weeks. It should fix four important bugs reported by users, including an overheating issue encountered during wireless charging and an issue with battery life management.
