This is news that may not please everyone. According to famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple intends to deliver its iPhone 12 without a charger or headphones in order to reduce the manufacturing costs of the entire range.
Right now, all iPhones come with a charger and a pair of wired headphones, but things may be different in the future.
The iPhone 12 delivered without charger and without headphones?
Apple would like to reduce costs as much as possible in order to be able to offer its new iPhones at the price of current models. Better yet, the brand would also intend to review the packaging of its phones to reduce their cost. Their size would thus be reduced.
IPhone is usually offered at a price starting around 1000 €, it is legitimate to wonder how such a decision will be perceived by consumers. Especially compared to the competition. If the price of high-end smartphones has soared over the years, Huawei, Xiaomi or even Oppo provide their devices headphones, of course, but also chargers compatible with fast charging.
A way to cut costs
Apple, for its part, is not frankly the most accessible brand and this applies of course for its accessories. The 18W charger, for example, is offered at € 35. The USB Type-C 30W adapter is even more expensive and it costs € 55. Many may not like the idea of having to go back to the cashier after buying a phone over 1000 €.
In addition, it should be remembered that in Europe, manufacturers are obliged to provide headphones with their smartphones. Apple will therefore logically not be able to opt for this strategy with us.
One thing seems certain in any case. Such a decision would be beneficial for third party props.
